FT Recruitment are seeking a skilled VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) Driver to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating VNA forklifts to efficiently manage materials handling, shipping, and receiving tasks within a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to safety, and the ability to work accurately under pressure. The VNA Driver plays a vital part in ensuring smooth warehouse operations and maintaining high standards of organisation and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Operate VNA forklifts safely and efficiently to load, unload, and transport materials across the warehouse.
- Manage materials handling tasks including stacking, organising, and retrieving stock within narrow aisles.
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities by preparing goods for dispatch or receipt.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic repairs or notify maintenance of any faults.
- Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory movements accurately.
- Support stock organisation by ensuring products are stored correctly and accessible for production or dispatch.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Assist with other warehouse duties such as inventory counts, order picking, and packing as required.
Requirements:
- Proven experience operating VNA forklifts or similar narrow aisle equipment in a warehouse setting.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control procedures.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs or troubleshooting.
- Experience with materials handling, load & unload operations, and shipping & receiving processes.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Basic mathematical skills for inventory counts and measurements.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking within the warehouse environment.
- Valid forklift licence or certification specific to VNA forklift operation is preferred.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to warehouse operations is essential.
